PM News reports that foremost Nigerian tabloid, The Guardian, has fired Emeka Izeze, the company’s managing director as well as three other consultants.
The report added that about 100 other workers of the company have also been penciled down for sack in the coming days as a result of the economic hardship in the country.
It was gathered that the post of managing director/editor-in-chief had been held by Izeze until it was split about two years ago.

While Debo Adeshina was then named the editor in chief, Izeze occupied the post of the MD before the unfortunate dismissal by the revered newspaper company.
PM News also gathered that the sack of the the consultants was effected on Friday, June 18, while the 100 other workers are expected to get the letter for the termination of their contracts in the coming days.
Alex Ibru, an entrepreneur, and Stanley Macebuh, a top journalist with the Daily Times newspapers had established The Guardian in 1983 and it introduced high-quality journalism to the country with its thought-provoking editorial contents.
This news is also coming days after African Independent Television (AIT) sacked all its workers in Benin City, Edo state, after reportedly protesting over unpaid salaries.
Reports say the management of the company owned by Chief Raymond Dokpesi’s Daar Communications, were owing the staff for about two years before booting them out of office.
