NSCDC arrest Boko Haram recruiter and supplier in Borno

Boko Haram’s capabilities have suffered a major blow, as suspected top recruiter was arrested in Borno on June 7, NAN reports. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said the 56-year-old Boko Haram kingpin was busted in Mussa village, Aski Uba local government area of Borno state. “Our men have made remarkable progress by arresting a Boko Haram kingpin, who was said to be a recruiter, as well as supplier of arms and IEDs [improvised explosive devices – NAIJ.com] to Boko Haram terrorists. “He confessed that his three children were also arrow heads of the Boko Haram sect,” Ibrahim Abdullahi, the commandant of the NSCDC in Borno, said. The NSCDC handed the suspect over to the Nigerian army for further investigation. The Boko Haram insurgency has caused the death of over 20,000 people in northern Nigeria since 2009.
