Reports coming in have it that President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, August 8, travel outside the country
According to a statement issued by Femi Adesina, the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, President Buhari would be in N’Djamena, Chad for the inauguration of the country’s new president, Idriss Deby Itno.
The Chadian emerged winner of the country’s presidential election in April, and President Buhari would be in the neighbouring country in company of two Nigerian governors.

The statement by Adesina revealed that Buhari would be accompanied on the one-day trip by
“Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State.”
The delegation will also include Senator Baba Kaka Garba, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), while Buhari will return to Abuja immediately after the occasion.
The president follows in his wife’s footsteps after the First Lady arrived the Dulles International Airport in Washington DC, United States, on Wednesday evening, August 3 , on a ten-day visit.
According to the Nigerian Embassy in Washington DC, Mrs Buhari arrived on a British Airways flight from London and during her ten-day visit, Mrs Buhari will attend a number of special events and visit several institutions.
