LATEST POSTS Ali Modu Sheriff, the factional national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is currently holding a closed-door meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
The meeting is taking place at the former president’s Abeokuta presidential hilltop residence in Ogun state, Vanguard reports.

Sheriff is said to have arrived in a Mercedez Benz AMG with the number plate AAA 673 BL, at about 11:04am in a convoy of four Sport Utility vehicles.
It was gathered that only the SUV that carried Sheriff was allowed into the premises while the other vehicles were asked to park outside the residence.
He went straight to Obasanjo’s inner room for a closed door meeting which lasted for one hour.
Sheriff’s visit may not be unconnected with the crisis rocking the party over the chairmanship position.
The opposition PDP has been embroiled in leadership crisis which has divided the party into two factions with Sheriff leading one and another one led by Ahmed Makarfi’s national caretaker committee.
The party sacked Sheriff as its chairman on May 21, but he has refused to step down and has been fighting the leadership of the party. At the moment the party has several cases in court pertaining to the leadership tussle.
The senator representing Ogun East senatorial district, Buruji Kashamu, has advised leaders of the PDP to forget about quick resolution of the crisis rocking the party as it may linger till 2019.
